Frequently asked questions
Buying & payment
How do I buy a recipe?
Open the recipe page, check its photos, ingredients and nutrition, then tap the buy button. The App Store or Google Play payment sheet appears, and once it completes the recipe is added to your library for good.
Why does the price differ slightly between countries?
The store shows the price in your local currency using its own price tiers, so it may differ slightly from the base price in SAR. The price on the payment sheet is what you actually pay.
I paid but the recipe isn't in my library
Payment confirmation can take a moment. Tap “Restore purchases” to reload your library and finish any incomplete payment. If it persists, message us with the order number from your purchase history.
My payment is pending. What now?
Some payment methods need approval, such as a parent's or the bank's. The purchase stays pending until the store confirms it; we then add the recipe automatically and notify you. You don't need to buy again.
Refunds
How do I ask for a refund?
The payment was taken by the App Store or Google Play, so refunds are requested from them directly: on iPhone through Apple's “Report a problem” page, and on Android from your Google Play order history. They decide under their own policies; we can't refund from inside the app.
What happens to the recipe after a refund?
If the store approves the refund, the recipe is removed from your library and you get a notification. The purchase stays in your history marked “Refunded”.
Library & cook mode
How does cook mode work?
Open the recipe from your library and tap “Start cooking”. You tick off the ingredients first, then go step by step with a ready timer for every timed step, and the screen stays on while you cook. Your progress is saved so you can pick up where you left off.
The timer doesn't ring
First make sure “Cook timer alerts” and the notification permission are on in Settings. On Android, some manufacturers stop background apps to save battery, so exclude Jidriya from battery optimisation in your device settings. On iPhone before iOS 26 the alert is silent in silent mode, so keep the volume up or the app open.
How is the nutrition calculated?
We calculate it automatically from the recipe's ingredients and quantities, using per-100 g values from recognised nutrition databases. Cooks never type it by hand, so these are estimates that can vary slightly with the produce and cooking method, and they don't replace professional advice.
For cooks
How do I become a cook?
From Account tap “Become a cook”, add your display name, bio and cuisine, then accept the cook agreement. You then add recipes from the cook dashboard and set each price yourself, with no subscription.
What is the platform commission?
The platform keeps 30% of the net sale after tax and store fees, and you get 70% of it. Example: a SAR 20 recipe bought on iPhone in Saudi Arabia nets about SAR 14.78, of which about SAR 10.35 is yours. The net varies slightly by country and store.
Why do customer photos need the cook’s approval?
When a customer adds photos to a review, the cook sees them in the dashboard to approve or hide. Photos go public only after approval, while the review text appears right away. The author always sees their own photos.
Account & safety
I signed in another way and got an empty account
You probably created a new account by mistake. Go back to your first sign-in method and link the others from “Sign-in methods”. To merge both accounts and move your purchases, message us with the topic “Merge accounts”.
How do I report a recipe, review or user?
Tap the options button on the recipe or cook page, or next to a review, choose “Report” and pick a reason. We review reports within 24 hours and tell you the outcome. You can also block the cook to hide their content.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Account, then Settings, then “Delete account”. Deletion is permanent, covers your library and personal data, and does not refund past payments.
